Padd Solutions

Converted by Falcon Hive

I was requested by my GF's parents to buy her a bottle of headlight restoration "potion" last week and i was thinking..."Does those 'potions' really work?" i dont think so...

since they are my coming soon relatives.. i decided to give them a free restoration, since ive never tried it before on other people's cars so it would be kindof a challenge and also an experience. which turned out amazing!

Today's Dr. Restoration's prescription
ONR NO Rinse Wash
OPT Hyper Compound
OPT Hyper Polish
OPT Quick Wax
Tools:
800grid Sandpaper
1000Grid Sandpaper
1500Grid Sandpaper
Makita 9227c Polisher
Makita stock wool pad
Lake Country Cutting Pad
Lake Country Polishing Pad

So i prepared the surface for sanding. Started with a ONR wash ( not only the headlights but the whole car )

I love classic toyota's they have a simple beauty in them...unexplainable...

This is how the headlights look like before anything was done...
Left Side

Right side

Then clayed the headlights first...no much contaminants so i didn't take a picture..
After that i taped up the sides to prevent the car paint from being sanded by accident!
Prevention is always better than cure...

Started sanding at 800 > 1000 > 1500 till its all evenly sanded...
I remember KC saying, ONR can be used as lube...so i was thinking if i use ONR as lube for wet sanding will it be better? hmmm..... i did it anyway..
50% to completion

Fully sanded

Then magic started to happen.
using the same procedures as car paint. i compounded the headlights with care as its plastic...
followed by finer cutting pad...
then following to polishing pad....
abracadabra.... POOF!
Like brand new! clarify kaw kaw!

No more space for me take picture so i had to guess the angle for this...best i could do...

Then after i showed my GF's mom the job she > "well done"
thats all i could ever ask for right?
Total Man Hours: 3hr as i was creeping at my petty pace...enjoying my moments with makita
simple yet easy restoration. satisfaction +1 thanks for viewing...
p/s i did this for free sometimes you should give in other to get something in return...

Zero2Hero Auto Detailing™

As i promised last week, i will complete the mazda 323 detailing session.

I also registered myself a detailing company with SSM

Now i can start small and slowly grow my business =)

Todays prescription:

ONR No Rinse Wash

Meg's Gold Class Wash

Meg's Detailing Clay

OPT Hyper Compound

OPT Hyper Polish

OPT Wax

OPT Power Clean

Lake country polishing pad, cutting pad and makita wool pad.

From last weeks detailing, i completed the hood.

From this

To This

Woke up at 7.40 and went to take my friend's dad's mazda 323 and drove it back home.

Started with Washing with Meg's Gold Class wash as it was too filthy, too much thick dust covered.

Right After Meg's Wash, i ONR No rinse wash it. =D

After that i continued with Claying with Meg's detailing clay with ONR 1:8 as lube.

End result of clay and washes

Also cleaned the petrol lid from

To

After that i continue a non-stop 3 hours compound job

results looks like this

50/50

Compounded

Not compounded

Roof not compounded dont be decieved by the reflection! it is actually like sand

see properly the reflection...

Actually why i say hardcore detailing its because im sick, fever and cough since morning, somemore i overstress myself, almost faint due to my fever...

so i decided to to push myself till lunch time and took panadol and slept for an hour 30mins

my loving gf woke me up to continue my job..

After lunch i continue to compound the whole car with the wool and proceeding to Lake Country yellow Cutting Pad.

end results looks like this..

I learnt a lesson today, for hard to reach area, we can use a microfibre, spray some compound or polish agents and rub it.

like here

Then when i wanted to apply polishing, it started to rain! awwww....

but then i still continue till it really started to rain..

but sadly due to the rain my brother dont allow me to use his D90 =(

I cant say im genius , i split the car in hald and did the front, then reverse reparked and did the rear..

but the after results looks great.

side..

Front

C Pillar

Another Side.

*Bling BLing*

Amazing reflection..

So... Yesterday it was raining heavily, i was excited! :burnout:
It is time to test out how the ONR, and the wax and the UQD turned out!
Once it stoped raining i went out the my phone and snap some pics.

With a protected and threated paint

Front Bonnet

The roof

i forgot to bring something back from the office luckily a colleague is still there, so i had a quick drive to my office to collect my stuff back...
drive distance was about 10km which is 6.2137119223733395 in USA
after i stop took some shots again..
Pictures tells a million words xD not a thousand

And another reflection shot

real time & reflection :adore: thank you ONR!
Just with ONR my car can shine just like that, like KC says, easy like 1 2 3 and a b c! wipe, dry and walk away :proud:
my car has not be rotored, no wax, compound and polish. previously i maintained it only with soft99 paste wax for white cars with hand waxing. Spend around 12 hours just to wax my whole car with hand, stop in the middle for lunch break. Wax practically once a week. By now i have already stoped waxing my car more than 3 months. but see what ONR just did :stupid: alien juice.....
Would like to share some extremely hacked paint shots....
i feel her in pain

WTH people use to wash car? steel brushes?

abused, left to die type of paint condition

How can people drive this? even my dad's e34 is older than this ride and yet....
btw is a kia sephia...
